New York City

NYC | Day 5 | Brooklyn Bridge, Move to Queens, and Wedding Day!

Today started with a march over to the Brooklyn Bridge before we were no longer conveniently nearby it (we switched hotels today and are now in the southern part of Queens). We took the subway over to Brooklyn, and then walked across the bridge to get back to the hotel.

Apparently we walked through a part of Brooklyn called DUMBO. There were some colorful elephants painted under this bridge to reinforce this fact.
Loved taking pictures of all of the angles from the cables.
Stars of the show!
Yet more lines to play with.

On the way back, we found the kiwi chips that I saw a few days ago and wanted to try! Once back, we packed up and made our way to the new digs via subway, with all of our luggage. Fortunately, it was a single train ride and no transfers, so the only walking was to/from the stations themselves.

Once we hit the new hotel in Queens, we checked up on how long the commute would be down to the wedding venue in Brooklyn. Turns out that it was a bit longer than we were expecting. We scrambled to find some food for a late lunch, and found some Chinese just down the street. Once we were ready, we headed out to the subway station. Thankfully, we made it to the wedding on time!

The views were beautiful, and the venue was beautiful inside and outside. Unfortunately, limiting the use of flash made low-light pictures a bit more difficult. I suppose it may be time to invest in a Lume Cube for when I’m using my lenses (they cover the flash).

The sun was going down while we were waiting to take our seats.
Mother of the bride and cousin of the bride (keep in mind, this is not the favorite cousin; that would be me).
Father-daughter smiles.
View towards Manhattan after the ceremony and during dinner.
Uncle Steve, Aunt Sandy, Ashley, and Uncle Jodi.
Added Uncle Bill onto this one.
Last family photo before many of us headed home. Ashley, Aunt Jan, myself, and Uncle Steve.

Lots of fun was had, the food was very good, and Jessie was beautiful! No bridal pictures; I never had the chance and the lighting wasn’t very conducive for it anyways.

We headed back home, and it was another long ride. We didn’t get home and to bed until about 1:30 in the morning. Oofda, it’s been a long day!
